Another Poached Rhino in Laikipia
Category: Issues, Mammals | Date: May 29 2009 | By: tumaren
Here is the sad story of another poached Rhino. This pressure will never ease until more effort is spent addressing the underlining cause, the unbelievable market value for the horn. We in Kenyan conservation spend so much money breeding Rhinos but i question whether it would be money better spent instituting stiffer sentences, laws and education in those places where Rhino horn is being purchased by the end user.

Another Male Leopard on Tumaren
Category: Mammals, camera-trap | Date: Sep 13 2008 | By: tumaren
This Beautiful Male Leopard was photographed above our offices several weeks ago on a gerenuk kill. Losorogol was patrolling when he found the stashed kill. Gabriel then went out to set the camera. This male is larger than the one we photographed before and i think it is also one that i saw 1 year back near our dam. the greatest thing about this camera is that it enables us to begin to identify the individual animals. Good Job Losorogol and Gabriel.!
